While speaking on behalf of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, her son Prince Andrew on Sunday said that his father’s demise left a “huge void” in the Queen’s life. Prince Philip passed away earlier this week at the Windsor Palace.

Prince Andrew passed on the heartfelt message to the public while speaking to media reporters after a ceremonial service at the Royal Lodge Windsor. He said, “I feel very sorry and supportive of my mother who is feeling it probably more than anybody else,” while describing the Queen’s state of mind through her mourning period.

He added, “He was a remarkable man, I loved him as a father. He was so calm. If you had a problem he would think about it. He was always someone you could go to,” while addressing the reports. 

The loss of Prince Philip was a moving moment not only for the Royal Family and the people of the United Kingdom but also for world leaders who share a connection with the country’s ceremonial leadership. Messages came pouring in from all around the world, including former United States Presidents and other leaders of the Commonwealth.

Prince Philip, who was 99-yeas-old at the time of his death, will be resting at the Windsor Castle till Saturday. The ceremonial send-off has been planned in line with the COVID-19 restrictions in the country with reports suggesting that no more than 30 guests will be present.
