As the skies of Washington DC were taken over by four T-38 Talon jets on Friday afternoon, social media started buzzing with reactions from all across the country, most of whom attempted to notify those who were unaware about the flypast.

The T-38 Talon aircraft fall under the category of supersonic jets handled by the United States Air Force and have been in commission in the country’s line of defense for decades.

The flyover was scheduled for 1 PM above the Capital Region by the Air Combat Command. 

Users on Twitter were commenting their take on why the flyover took place. 

The flyover was being managed by the Air Combat Command of the US and was routed over the Arlington National Cemetery in the national capital.

While law enforcement agencies like the DC Homeland Security and Emergency Management and the police department attempted to notify the residents of the flyover, several people also received text message notifications to avoid any panic.
