Yash Dhull will be the eighth Indian captain to play the U-19 World Cup final when his side locks horns with England at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on Saturday. India, with four titles against their name, is the most successful country in the tournament’s 34-year history.

Ahead of the final, here is a look at India’s performance in seven U-19 World Cup finals:
1) vs Sri Lanka, 2000, Colombo
India’s first U-19 World Cup title came in 2000, when Mohammad Kaif’s team defeated Sri Lanka by six wickets in Colombo. India chased a 179-run target with more than nine overs to spare.

2) vs Pakistan, 2006, Colombo
India’s second U-19 World Cup final saw them lose to archrivals Pakistan. Chasing an below-par 109, Ravikant Shukla and co were bowled out for 71.
3) vs South Africa, 2008, Kuala Lumpur
Under the leadership of Virat Kohli, India managed to win their second U-19 World Cup in a rain-affected game. After being dismissed for 159 runs, the Indians managed to contain the Proteas to 103/8, winning the game by 12 runs (DLS).

4) vs Australia, 2012, Queensland
India were coming off a sixth-placed finish in the 2010 edition of the U-19 World Cup. Facing the Aussies on their home soil, Unmukt Chand and company won a record-equalling third title in 2012.
Chand’s unbeaten 111 helped India to chase down 226 runs with six wickets in hand.
5) vs West Indies, 2016, Dhaka
A record fourth title was in sight when India took on Shimron Hetmyer-led West Indies in the final at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka in 2016.
However, the Ishan Kishan and company saw the Windies chase their 146-run target with five wickets to spare.

6) vs Australia, 2018, Mount Maunganui
The 2018 World Cup final was played between India and Australia. Led by Manjot Kalra’s century, India won the final and claimed a record-making fourth title.
7) vs Bangladesh, 2020, Potchefstroom
India lost to Bangladesh in a rain-hit final in Potchefstroom, South Africa in 2020. Batting first, Yashasvi Jaiswal and co managed only 177 runs in the first innings. The skipper scored 88. Bangladesh chased the revised target of 170 with three wickets remaining.
