Video of the crew members of the Indonesian submarine, which sank off the coast of Bali earlier this week, singing the ‘Goodbye’ song has gone viral on social media.
In the video, Heri Okatavian, commander of the KRI Nanggala 402 is seen with an acoustic guitar and other crew members gathered around him. The footage was recorded as a farewell for an outgoing corps commander but has taken to a new significance when the vessel sank and all the 53 sailors aboard were killed.
The song means, “Even though I am not ready to be missing you, I am not ready to love without you, I wish all the best to you.” The crew members are singing ‘Sampai Jumpa’ an Indonesian song, which means goodbye.
