The Taliban and Pakistani forced have been instructed by the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to target India-built assets in Afghanistan, ANI reported. Pakistani militant groups are waging an offensive across Afghanistan’s countryside, snapping up territory and leaving the Afghan forces facing a crisis.

As per the report, Indian governments across two decades have invested over $3 billion in reconstruction projects in Afghanistan. The investments include a 218-km road between Delaram and the Afghan Parliament building which was inaugurated in 2015. The road proved an alternative route for the duty-free movement of goods through the Chabahar port in Iran to Afghanistan.

India has also helped in the restoration of the Stor palace, in the rebuilding of the Habibia High School in Kabul and providing it with grants-in-aid. New Delhi’s contributions extend over sectors as the Salma dam that was reconstructed and reopened by Indian PM Narendra Modi in 2016, is known as the Afghan-India Friendship Dam. 

The Pakistan-backed Islamic terrorist groups including the Haqqani network have been highly active for years against India in Afganistan, ANI reports. 

Indian agencies are also closely monitoring the situation at the Kabul airport.

As per ANI’s estimates and inputs, more than 10,000 Pakistanis have entered the war zone in Afghanistan to openly support the Taliban’s offensive against the Afghanistan government. They have been instructed to target and remove any signs of Indian goodwill from the war-torn country. 

The Indians working in civil projects have been called back. India had recently also announced works worth around USD 350 million including the Shahtoot dam for providing drinking water to the city of Kabul.
