Producer Vijay
Shekhar Gupta says that his new film “Suicide or Murder” is not a
biopic of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. He says that the idea is to show the
“challenges faced by outsiders in the industry” and hence “it is inspired by
many such characters.”
“The symmetry of incidence in our Bollywood industry
starting from Divya Bharti, Jiah Khan to Sushant inspired me to pick the subject
and make a film on the subject of Bollywood Mafia and nepotism. The film is
inspired by many such characters and will cover the struggle and challenges
faced by the outsider in the industry,” Gupta told Opoyi.
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra
residence in Mumbai on June 14. On July 25, Sushant’s father KK Singh filed an
FIR in Patna, naming the actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, as the main
accused. The case was then handed over to the CBI.
In one of the press conferences, Sushant Singh Rajput’s
family lawyer Vikas Singh stated that no film, serial, or book should be
written or made on the late actor without the consent of his father and if
anyone goes against it, they will do it at their peril.
Addressing that, Gupta said that “we don’t need
permission as it’s not a biopic.”
“Though we have no issue if the family of Sushant wants
to see our script,” he said.
Talking about the research that went behind the making of
the film, he said, “We are watching everything that is happening in public
domain and aspects are almost closed to what we have thought of in our
storyline.”
TikTok star Sachin Tiwari will play the lead role of
‘outsider’ in the film while the female lead is Shweta Parashar while the king
of nepotism will be played by actor Rana and politician is Prabhav Upadhyay.
Talking about his idea on the whole debate on insider and
outsider, the producer stated, “Bollywood is always treated as a house of
insiders, Nepokids or few groups. Now we are creating a new Hindi industry in
Noida UP where we will give chance to all the talented actors and actresses
from across India,” he said.
