India in the last 24 hours recorded 46,148 new cases of COVID-19 and 979 deaths from the infection. India’s COVID-19 tally, as of June 28, stands at 30,279,331 and the death toll from the pandemic has jumped to 396,730. 

There are currently 572,994 active cases of COVID-19. A total of 58,578 people recovered from the coronavirus infection on Sunday, taking the tally of recovered COVID cases to 29,309,607. 

The recovery rate has now increased to 96.80%.

As of June 28, 323,663,297 people have received at least a single dose of COVID-19 vaccines in India. On Sunday, 1,721,268 people got vaccinated against the COVID-19 disease. India kicked off its mass vaccination programme, the world’s largest, against COVID-19 on January 16 with Covaxin and Covishield.
