Actress Madhavi Gogate, who played Rupali Ganguly’s mother in the TV show ‘Anupamaa’, is said to have died of COVID-19 on November 21. She was 58. The actor was admitted to Seven Hills Hospital in Mumbai after contracting the virus.

In Anupamaa, she played the role of Kanta Joshi. She recently quit the show and was replaced by veteran actress Savita Prabhune. Rupali Ganguly took to her Instagram story to pay her last respects to the actress. Sharing a photo of Madhavi Gogate, she wrote, “so much left unsaid.”

Actress Alpana Buch, who plays Anupamaa’s mother-in-law on the show also mourned Madhavi Gogate’s death on social media. Sharing a photo of hers on her Instagram handle, she wrote, “Madhaviji this is not done..actor can not take exit before scene gets over…we will miss you on Anupamaa set…your cute smile.. sweet voice…n humor…we will all miss you (sic).”

Shehzad Shaikh also took to his Instagram stories to pay his last respects to the actress. “RIP. Will miss you everyday,” he wrote.

Madhavi Gogate was currently seen on Dangal TV’s ‘Sindoor Ki Keemat’.

Earlier this year, Rupali Ganguly also infected the virus COVID-19 and was under quarantine. The 43-year-old actor, who had been shooting for her TV show “Anupamaa”, shared the news in a post on Instagram that time.

Ganguly revealed that after her diagnosis, the unit of the Star Plus show will also be tested for the virus. “This is the kind of positive I didn’t want to be… Take care and stay safe everyone and keep showering your love on my family and ‘Anupamaa’ family,” the actor, who is asymptomatic, wrote. Ganguly said she was not aware how she contracted the virus despite the entire unit taking necessary precautions. “I have no idea how I got it and from where. I have quarantined myself away from my family and other humans. Family has been tested and awaiting results. Please keep them in your prayers “Unit is getting tested too as I write this. Please send out a lot of love, healing and prayers for my family and for my ‘Anupamaa’ family,” she added.

In February, Paras Kalnawat, one of the lead actors from the show, had also tested positive for COVID-19.
