Superstar Kamal Haasan, 66, congratulated Mammootty on his 70th birthday. In a video message shared on YouTube, he said that he did not believe Mammootty when he told him that he was 70 years old and that he thought he was his own age or younger than his own. His greetings are in Malayalam.

‘When Mammootty told Sir that he was 70 years old, I did not believe him. I thought he was my age, or younger than me. Sorry. He came after I came, even though he was older. So let’s say my junior. Not only that. Even looking in the mirror, I still feel younger than I am.
“For me and the people. May you be able to maintain this energy and youth. All the best to this senior citizen. Another senior citizen, ” says Kamal Haasan, reports Manorama News.
Mammootty has turned 70 today. The three-time National Award-winning superstar made his debut with 1971 film ‘Anubhavangal Paalichakal’ and has since been a part of more than 400 features in a career spanning over four decades. He has also done films in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu films as well as those in Hindi and English.

Mammootty initially used the stage name Sajin in his early films. He has won three National Film Awards for Best Actor, seven Kerala State Film Awards and thirteen Filmfare Awards South. In 1998, the Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri for his contributions to the arts. He has also received honorary doctorate degrees from the University of Kerala in January 2010 and from the University of Calicut in December 2010.
