Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) party chief Kamal Haasan is contesting from the Coimbatore South assembly constituency in the upcoming Tamil Nadu polls and has been campaigning in the district. On Sunday, his younger daughter Akshara Haasan and niece Suhasini Mani Ratnam joined him. The two not only asked people to vote for Kamal but also entertained them by dancing to the folk beats.

Akshara has been accompanying her father in this election campaign. Last week, she shared a few photos with her father on Twitter and captioned them, “My Bapuji, a true fighter. When he does what he loves, he fights through all kinds of pain. #JeanCladGandhi (sic).”

Elections in the state will be held on April 6 in a single phase. On Saturday, Kamal asked voters in the constituency to expose all those approaching them for their votes with money or gifts.

“Voters of Coimbatore South, if anyone comes to your house to give money or gifts for your vote, expose them on social media with proof. Tag me also. I will visit your house to salute your honesty,” Haasan tweeted.
