Ganesh Chathurthi, one of the biggest and most auspicious festivals in Hindu mythology, is on Friday. It is an 11-day celebration that begins on the day of Chaturthi. On this day, devotees get Lord Ganesha’s idol at home, perform pujas, make offerings, worship God and then on the tenth day, immerse the idol in the water in the form of visarajan.

Ganesh Chaturthi puja tithi
Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada. This year, it will be celebrated on Friday, September 10. The 11-day event will conclude on September 21.
Ganesh Chaturthi Shubh Muhurat
The Ganesh Chaturthi tithi begins at 12:18 am on September 10 and ends at 9:57 pm on the same day. Accordhing to the nakshatras, the most appropriate time for the Ganesh Puja is Madhyana Kaala and the shubh muhurat is between 11:03 am and 1:33 pm.
On this day, people perform religious duties like cleaning the temple in their house, offering durva ghas, ladoos and modaks to Lord Ganesh and completing the worship with an aarti.
Ganesh Chaturthi Puja Vidhi
Lord Ganesha’s puja is performed in a certain way. The right vidhi involves putting the idol in the red clothe as it is an auspicious colour, offering water pot ‘Panchamrit’, then adorn the idols with roli, Akshat’, ‘Kalava janeoo’, cardamom, coconut, ‘Chandi ka vark’, ‘supari’, ‘laung’, panchmeva’, ‘ghee kapur’, ‘chaukee’ and ‘gangajal’ are needed for worship.
Note: Tulsi leaves are never offered to Lord Ganesha, so make sure you do not include tulsi leaves in any of the elements.
