Former WWE
champion CM Punk has returned to wrestling. The five-time WWE Champion had left
the company in January 2014 after his relations soured with WWE Chairman Vince
McMahon following the Royal Rumble of 2014. Punk’s return has sent the wrestling
community across the world and especially in the US into a tizzy.

CM Punk returned
to Fox Network’s WWE Backstage show in 2019 as a guest analyst. But his in-ring
return which wrestling fans have been clamouring for happened only on Saturday.
CM Punk made his AEW debut at AEW Rampage: First Dance show at the United
Center in Chicago. Punk arrived with AEW owner Tony Khan. He promised the
15,000 or so fans that their faith in the company will be repaid, reports
Hindustan Times.

The crowd
went wild when Punk arrived as the chanted his name at the top of their voice. CM
Punk went and hugged several fans in what seemed like an emotional moment for
all parties.

CM Punk,
called the Voice of the Voiceless for taking on the WWE management, was known
for his legendary “pipebomb” promo from a 2011 episode of RAW.

The man behind the ring name CM Punk is Philip Jack Brooks. Aside from being a professional wrestler, Brooks is also an actor and a mixed martial arts commentator.

Punk’s return to wrestling did not come as a surprise. Last year, the ace wrestler had spoken about his comeback in the squared ring on Renee Young’s Oral Sessions podcast. However, he did acknowledge that the wrestling landscape now was very different from what it was when he left.
