New Zealand’s pace sensation Kyle Jamieson became the third seamer to breach the Rs 10 crore mark on Thursday only to become the third most expensive overseas player in IPL history. The 26-year-old was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2021 auction for Rs 15 crore as he will join the likes of Daniel Sams, Navdeep Saini and Mohammed Siraj in the Chinnaswamy camp.
Emerging as New Zealand’s premier pace talent, Jamieson has time and again proved his mettle with the red ball. Making his Test debut against Virat Kohli and company, Jamieson claimed his maiden five-for in his very second match in the whites as the Kiwis bashed India at home.
The six feet tall bowler hogged all the limelight when he was named the man of the match in his maiden ODI match.
While Kyle will be considered as a huge addition to the RCB squad, his scanty experience in limited-overs cricket could be a concern for Virat Kohli.
Earlier in the auction, Chris Morris and Jhye Richardson also manage to lure the franchises with their pace to receive a big Rs 10 crore plus cheque.
