Nathan%u2019s fourth of July hot dog eating contest ended on a not-so-surprising note on Sunday after the incumbent title holder Joey %u2018Jaws%u2019 Chestnut secured his 14th win.
Chestnut not only successfully retained the Mustard Belt for himself but also carried on his streak of record-setting performances at eating contests across the United States. Sunday%u2019s record pushed Chestnut%u2019s previous score and now stands at 76 hotdogs in a time frame of 10 minutes, according to reports from USA Today.

Out of the last 15 such competitions, the competitive eater has claimed victory in 14 after being defeated by Matt Stonie in 2015. The legendary competitor grazed past Geoffrey Esper, the 50-year-old runner-up of Nathan%u2019s fourth of July competition.
The 37-year-old got launched into the world of competitive eating after his 2007 win against six-time defending candidate Takeru Kobayashi and thereafter has been known as the champion of Nathan%u2019s contest.

In a statement given to ESPN before the contest flagged off around noon, Chestnut spoke about the support he has received from fans through his decade-long journey. He said, %u201CThis is what I love. I love eating in front of people and they love pushing me. I am just a guy that eats hot dogs and has fun. I am just so happy to be doing this,%u201D, reported USA Today.
Before the men%u2019s round started in Brooklyn‘s Coney Island, Nathan%u2019s hot dog eating contest hosted a women%u2019s round where Michelle Lesco won the Mustard Belt after devouring more than 30 hot dogs in a span of 10 minutes. Her main competitor and defending champion Miki Sudo did not participate in this year%u2019s competition due to her pregnancy, USA Today reported.
