Royal Challengers Bangalore, despite the excellence of individual performances, have failed to win a single IPL title. The team’s best performance that came in 2016, promised a trophy before Virat Kohli and company stumbled across Warner’s Hyderabad.

The analysis of RCB’s campaigns across the years brings forward a standing conclusion that points towards the team’s stellar batting order but a struggling bowling attack in the past decade. Over-reliance on their mainstay players time and again has cost RCB.

The Indian Premier League is scheduled to start on September 19. The cash-rich tournament will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) keeping in view the rising number of COVID-19 cases in India. The BCCI announced the schedule for the tournament on Sunday and the first match of the tournament will be a reenactment of the 2019 IPL final with MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings going toe to toe with Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians. The match will be played at Abu Dhabi.

The final match of the tournament is scheduled for November 10.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore finished the last season on a high, as Virat Kohli described enjoying ‘the last six matches’ to compensate for another wooden spoon campaign. However, with the likes of Aaron Finch, Adam Zampa and Chris Morris available for selection coach Simon Katich will look forward to make this season a memorable one.
