The first ten rows of the Republic Day parade will be led by a Bangladeshi tri-service contingent in New Delhi, reported ANI.

The contingent will be led by the Bangladesh Army that will constitute the first six rows followed by two rows of the Bangladesh Navy. The last two rows will have members from the Bangladesh Air Force.

In a conversation with ANI,  Colonel Mohatsim Hyder Chaudhary, the leader of the Bangladesh tri-service contingent said, “Bangladesh contingent will be led by its army which will be in first six rows followed by two navy and two air-force contingent respectively. We are following all the COVID-19 norms.” 

The tri-service is participating in the 2021 Republic Day parade at Rajpath, New Delhi to mark 50 years of the Bangladesh Liberation War.

This year marks the 50th year since the Liberation War of 1971, after which Bangladesh seceded from Pakistan and became a free nation.

The Rafale fighter jets that were recently purchased from France and inducted into the Indian Air Force will be participating in the parade and will be part of the flypast at the culmination of the parade.

IAF Spokesperson, Wing Commander, Indranil Nandi told the ANI that 42 aircraft will be seen at the flypast including 15 fighter planes, five transport aircraft and a vintage aircraft.

New formations including ‘Rakshak’, ‘Eklavya’ and ‘Brahmastra’ will be seen during the parade. He also mentioned that 1 Dakota and  2 MI-17s will be a part of the Rudra formation while the Sudarshan formation will consist of 2 Chinook and 2 MI-17s.

The ‘Rakshak’ formation will consist of one MI-35 and four Apache helicopters and the ‘Garuda’ will display one C-17, two Mig 29s and two Su-30s.

The Eklavya will have 1 Rafale, 2 jaguars and 2 Mig 29s and a Rafale will also be seen under the ‘Brahamastra’ formation.
