Hrithik Roshan and his family are going through a difficult period after the actor’s maternal grandmother died on June 16 in Mumbai. Padma Rani Omprakash, Hrithik’s grandmother, died of an age-related disease, according to reports. Rakesh Roshan, the famed actor-filmmaker, confirmed the news of the 91-year-untimely old death.
Rakesh Roshan confirmed the news of his death to Hindustan Times, expressing his condolences for the tragic loss. In response to the news, he stated, “Regrettably, the information is correct. Om Shanti is the Sanskrit word for peace.” Padma had been living with the Roshan family for the past two years and was suffering from age-related problems, according to sources in the main newspaper.
The maternal grandmother of Hrithik Roshan has died.
She was the wife of filmmaker J Om Prakash, Hrithik’s mother Pinky Roshan’s father. On different holiday occasions and family get-togethers, both Hrithik and his mother Pinky were frequently spotted exchanging images with Padma Rani on social media. Last year, on the auspicious festival of Diwali, the Dhoom 2 star tweeted a slew of photos from his family’s celebrations at home, including one of him posing with his grandma.
Pinky, a devoted daughter who is also active on social media, had already uploaded a few photos from the hospital’s Mother’s Day events. Pinky’s mother, who appears to be frail and in a hospital bed, is seen cutting a cake and blessing her daughter on her special day in the photos. Her followers were passionate and teary-eyed as they witnessed the mother-daughter heart-melting moment.
Hrithik’s grandfather, the late J Omprakash, was a well-known filmmaker who made his Bollywood debut in 1974 with Rajesh Khanna’s Aap Ki Kasam. He was well-known for roles in films such as Apna Bana Lo (1982), Apnapan (1977), Aasha (1980), and others. At the age of 93, he passed away in August 2019.
Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan has concluded filming for his upcoming film Vikram Vedha, and he is preparing to wow the audience in a gangster role in the action film. He’ll be seen onscreen alongside Saif Ali Khan, who has been cast as the film’s second protagonist. The film will be released in theatres on September 30, 2022. Aside from that, the multi-talented actor has the action thriller Fighter on his resume.
