After nine days of silence on Twitter, including on his birthday, Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk returned to his favourite microblogging platform on Friday, posting a flurry of tweets ranging from a meeting with Pope Francis to the death of Minecraft streamer Technoblade.

Making his return, Musk first commented on the death of streamer Technoblade, who died at the age of 23 after a long battle with cancer.

The world’s richest man then went on to tell the world that he was “Feeling … perhaps … a little bored?,” before posting more tweets.

Musk then shared what appeared to be an undated photo of himself and an unnamed woman in Venice in carnival costumes, with the caption, “Venice, a site of Great Remembrance.”

Replying to a user, Musk then clarified that the woman pictured was none other than his ex-wife Talulah Riley, writing, “Talulah designed that dress herself and much of my 40th birthday party. She is a party genius.”

The billionaire’s tweet on Venice was perhaps a hint that he had visited Italy during his absence on Twitter, as the 51-year-old subsequently posted a photo of himself, Pope Francis, and four of his teenage sons, with the caption, “Honored to meet [Pope Francis] yesterday.”

It was unclear where the meeting between Musk and the Pope had taken place or what the purpose of the meeting was. Additionally, Musk’s transgender daughter, who in June changed her name to sever ties with him, and his other three children were not pictured.

The billionaire, however, did not provide any updates about his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter, which he had announced a couple of months back.

Last month, the 51-year-old had said that there were “still a few unresolved matters” in his deal to buy Twitter, including the prevalence of bots and the debt portion of the deal.
