Following their heroics against England in the third ODI in Manchester, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya have made huge gains in the latest ICC rankings. 

Pant, who scored his first ODI century against England, including five boundaries in a single over, has come 25 places up in the ICC rankings to the 52nd spot. 

On the other hand, Pandya, who put up a memorable partnership with Pant, helping India to seal the win against England, has advanced to the 42nd spot. Apart from his batting, the Indian all-rounder also shone while bowling against the Three Lions as he registered his best-ever ODI figure of 4/24. This has helped Pandya to make great inroads, finishing at the 70th spot among bowlers.

Bangladeshi maverick Shakib Al Hasan leads the chart in ICC’s all-rounder rankings. Meanwhile, Pandya’s position has remained unchanged at the eighth spot. He is also the only Indian all-rounder inside the top 10.

Meanwhile, it was New Zealand’s Trent Boult who overtook India’s Jasprit Bumrah at the top of ICC Men’s ODI Bowling rankings with 704 points. Bumrah has gone down to the second place with 703 points.

The Indian bowler dismissed six English batters in the first ODI earlier in July. However, he was not part of the third and penultimate ODI match as he suffered an injury in the second match.

Bumrah is also the only Indian bowler inside the top 10 rankings. Yuzvendra Chahal (16th), Bhuvneswar Kumar (24) and Mohamad Shami (25) are the other Indian bowlers who have featured in the list.

Boult and Bumrah are the only players in the bowlers’ list who have 700+ points. The third, fourth and fifth spots are occupied by Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi, New Zealand’s Josh Hazlewood and Afghan ace Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

Among batters, Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq have held on to the top two spots. However, South African Rassie van der Dussen has come up to the third position, forcing Indian duo Virat Kohli to the fourth spot, Rohit Sharma to fifth and Quinton de Kock to sixth.
