A mobile app was created by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar, to aid in the identification of money notes by those who are blind. The programme can identify both new and old notes and can identify which note you are holding in your hands based on audio information. The Google Play Store offers a free version of the Roshni app. The programme was exhibited by a team that included Dr. Puneet Goyal, PhD candidates Mandhatya Singh and Joohi Chauhan, and student R Ram from the institute. Students from Chandigarh’s Institute for Visually Impaired attended the demonstration.
