American tennis star Serena Williams became the talk of the town on Monday, October 24, when she claimed that she is yet to retire from the sport. As per Williams, the chances of her return to the court remain very high, however, indicated otherwise after she was knocked out of US Open 2022 in September.
The 41-year-old’s comments came at a press conference in San Francisco on Monday when she was promoting Serena Ventures, her company that focuses on investments.

“I am not retired,” she said at the press conference. “The chances (of a return) are very high. You can come to my house, I have a court,” Williams added.
In an essay earlier this year, Serena wrote that she was evolving away from tennis. While she never confirmed the US Open as her final tournament, Serena was given many tributes in all of her matches at the Grand Slam event at the Flushing Meadows in New York City in September.
Serena partnered with her elder sister Venus Williams at the women’s doubles event at the US Open 2022, where they were knocked out by Czech duo Lucie Hradecka and Linda Noskova. The 23-time Grand Slam singles winner was also knocked out of the women’s singles only a day after when she was beaten by Ajla Tomljanovic of Australia in the third round.

Williams is regarded widely as the greatest women’s player to have ever played the sport and said it was not natural to her to not prepare for a tournament following the US Open in September.
“I still haven’t really thought about (retirement),” Serena revealed. “But I did wake up the other day and go on the court and (considered) for the first time in my life that I’m not playing for a competition, and it felt really weird,” he quipped.
“It was like the first day of the rest of my life and I’m enjoying it, but I’m still trying to find that balance.” Williams concluded.
