India reacts to Imran Khan assassination attempt: This is something that we are closely keeping an eye on

In response to the shooting incident reported at former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s rally in Punjab Province, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Thursday that it is “keeping a close eye” on the situation.

“This is something that we are closely keeping an eye on and we will continue to monitor the ongoing developments,” Arindam Bagchi, a spokesperson for the ministry of external affairs, said to a question at a press briefing.

According to Punjab province Health Minister Yasmin Rashid, Khan was shot numerous times in both legs and suffered severe injuries. Imran Ismail, a former governor of Sindh, and Faisal Javed Khan were two of the more than 15 PTI members who also suffered injuries.

One person was said to have died in the event, according to Faisal Javed Khan, who also urged people to pray for Imran Khan and the other injured individuals. Soon after the firing episode, there were reports of a confrontation between PTI workers and police.

PTI Lahore president Sheikh Imtiaz Mehmood tweeted that a demonstration against the “cowardly attack” would take place in Liberty Chowk following the incident. The event happened close to Allahwala Chowk in the Punjabi town of Wazirabad, according to the news agency PTI.

According to a Geo TV video, Khan, 70, was transferred to a bulletproof vehicle after being wounded in the right leg. Authorities arrested one individual there and moved him to an unidentified location.

On October 28, Imran Khan began his protest march. According to the original schedule, the party’s long march, which had been travelling for six days, was supposed to arrive in Islamabad in seven days.
