businessman and politician from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf who served as the 33rd Governor of Sindh from 27 August 2018 to 18 April 2022. He was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh in August 2018.

He ran for the seat of the National Assembly of Pakistan in a by-election held in April 2015 but failed to bag a win. In the 2018
Pakistan general election, he was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Sindh as the candidate of PTI.

He was named the Governor of Sindh on August 6, 2018, by Khan
and was formally appointed on August 23. His appointment opened floodgates of controversy
from the academic community which claimed that he lacked the necessary
qualifications for office. Their argument was based on the fact that the Governor’s office made him the chancellor of all
state-run educational institutions.

Despite the criticism, he held on to his
position for four years before handing in his resignation on April 18, 2022.
