Imran Khan, former Pakistan Prime Minister, was shot during a march at Wazirabad. The (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf) PTI chief and former captain of the country’s World Cup-winning side, has sustained injuries from the incident. He was shot in the leg three or four times, as per latest reports.
The attacker has reportedly been arrested.
Khan and the other victims of the incident were on a container mounted on a truck when the firing took place.

Along with Khan, 4-5 people have also sustained injuries. Imran Ismail, the former governor of Sindh, and Khan’s manager Rashid are among the injured.
PTI leader Farrukh Habib said on Twitter, “Imran Khan is injured, may Allah protect him, the whole nation should pray for the life of Imran Khan”.
Another leader of the party, Azhar Mashwani, said, “Imran Khan sahb is safe. According to ground teams culprit is arrested. Incident happened near Allah hoo chowk Wazirabad”.

According to DawnNewsTV, Faisal Javed Khan, a close aide of the former Pakistan PM and a member of the Pakistan Senate, has also sustained injuries.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also released a statement following the incident:
Pakistan President Dr. Arif Alvi has released a statement on Twitter: “Heinous assassination attempt on the brave @ImranKhanPTI. I thank Allah that he is safe but injured with few bullets in his leg & hopefully non-critical. This attack is shocking, alarming, disgraceful, deceitful & cowardly. May Allah give him health & to all those injured.”
A video has now emerged of the shooter post his arrest. He has confessed that he was planning to kill Khan since he began his rally from Lahore.
The killer has also said that his reason for the attack is his belief that Khan was misleading the people of Pakistan. He further said that his plan was to attack Khan only.
