However, the modern lifestyle doesn’t allow many of us to follow a proper detox diet. Good news — your body already has the tools to flush out toxins. What you need is to slip a few activities throughout the day and have a rejuvenated body at the end of it.

Your liver metabolises over 90% of the alcohol you consume. It metabolises alcohol into acetaldehyde, which is believed to be a carcinogen. The liver identifies it as a toxin and filters it out.

Although consuming booze in moderate quantity has its benefits, however drinking beyond a point can leave your liver severely damaged by causing fat build-up, inflammation, and scarring.

This hinders with liver’s normal function of filtering out waste and toxins from the body.

So regulating your alcohol consumption should be first activity in your detox journey.

Avoid sugar

Eating too much salt results in water retention, which causes bloating.

When you consume too much salt and less water, your body releases a hormone, called antidiuretic, which prevents you from urinating and thus, flushing out toxins from your body.

Apart from eating less salt, you can also drink more water to regulate the salt content in your body.

Eat the right food
