An Indonesian man from Gresik, Jawa Timur, on Friday became popular on social media after supposedly marrying a female goat on June 5, 2022.

A group of local residents can be seen dressed in traditional Javanese costumes as they attended the wedding ceremony in a video that has gone viral on the Internet and has been shared by SURYAtv on their YouTube channel.

The goat was also given a scarf and other bridal decorations.

The wedding of Saiful Arif, 44, and the goat, Sri Rahayu bin Bejo, was seen by guests at the ceremony.

Saiful can also be heard in the video reciting the akad nikah, which claims that the dowry was only 22,000 rupiah (RM6.69).

Surprisingly, the wedding ceremony appeared to have taken place at the home of a local politician.

According to BuzzKini, Saiful Arif was forced to come up with the truth and apologise for his behaviour when the video generated an unanticipated outcry among netizens.

Saiful stated that the video was only a ruse and that it was made solely for entertainment purposes. He desired for the contentious behaviour to go viral.

This was done solely to raise the number of likes and views on the page.

Furthermore, Saiful maintained that he did not want to offend anyone with the video’s composition and that it was solely for the amusement of the viewers.

Internet users are perplexed and are expressing their disgust of the wedding in the comments section of clones of the video on YouTube.

‘Content motives,’ according to others, isn’t a good enough reason to conduct something so heinous.

“Even if it’s simply content, don’t do it this way… is there really no other way… astagfirullah,” one internet user stated.

Residents who witnessed the marriage, according to several netizens, are also to blame for enabling Saiful.

“Don’t just point the finger at the newlyweds. “I think the village leader and the folks who are supporting the wedding are insane,” one user said.
