Indian equity benchmarks ended lower on Wednesday with the
Sensex declining 168.08 points or 0.28% to settle at 59,028.91. During the day,
it slipped 474.1 points or 0.80% to 58,722.89. The Nifty fell 31.20 points or
0.18% to 17,624.40.

The broader indices ended in green with the BSE Midcap
index up by 0.46% and the Small cap index up by 0.73%. The top gaining sectoral
indices on the BSE were Basic Materials up by 0.94%, Telecom up by 0.87%,
Healthcare up by 0.69%, Consumer Durables up by 0.59%, and Industrials up by
0.43%, while Auto down by 1.12%, Power down by 0.91%, Utilities down by 0.75%
and Bankex down by 0.51% were the top losing indices on BSE.

Here are the key stocks that moved the most on September 7:

Coal India: The stock jumped 2.71% to close at Rs 239.00
after the company reported its highest ever coal production in the first five
months of the financial year 2022-23. April 1 -September 4 production rose by
44.5 MT, exceeding the previous high of 44.5 MT recorded in fiscal 2016. “At
the current pace of production, if mining areas are not excessively affected by
heavy seasonal deluge in September, the company is hopeful of reaching close to
the apportioned H1 target of 306 MT,” Coal India said in an exchange filing.

Tata Consultancy Services: The stock ended 0.83% higher at
Rs 3,153.00 after the company announced that it has been selected by Nokia to
reimagine the employee experience for the company’s global workforce in more
than 130 countries of operation. Nokia has selected TCS as its transformation
enabler to reimagine its human resources processes and enable seamless
personalized employee journeys.

Container Corporation of India (CONCOR): Shares of the
Container Corporation of India soared 8.06% to close at Rs 723.30 after the
cabinet cleared the railway land license policy under the PM Gati Shakti
Program. Under the new policy, the timeframe for leasing railway land has been
increased to 35 years from the earlier period of five years. The cabinet has
also reduced the land license fee for the Railways from 6% to 1.5% for new
entrants.

Cipla: The share price ended 0.89% higher at 1,050.15 after
the drugmaker received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration for
the Lenalidomide capsule, a drug used to treat various types of cancer. The
company has received the final approval for the product in strengths of 5 mg,
10 mg, 15 mg, and 25 mg, Cipla said in a regulatory filing.

Bharti Airtel: The stock fell 1.22% to settle at Rs 752.00
after nearly 1.9% of the shares of the company changed hands in multiple block
deals. The details of buyers and sellers were not available. On August 25,
Singtel said it would sell a 3.3% stake in Airtel to Bharti Telecom for an
aggregate consideration of about $1.6 billion.

Hindustan Aeronautics: The stock ended 0.99% higher at Rs
2,418 after the firm said it assembled and tested gas turbines that were used
in the recently commissioned aircraft carrier, IAC-1 Vikrant. “IAC is powered
by four General Electric LM2500 gas turbines supplied by HAL,” the company said
in an exchange filing. According to the company, the turbines were assembled
and tested at HAL’s dedicated facility in Bengaluru.
