Gold prices fell on Friday as the US dollar rose and investors worried about aggressive rate rises by major central banks to combat inflationary pressures.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased marginally on Friday, July 22, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 50,456.00 per 10 gm, up 81 points or 0.16%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 55,451.00 per kg, up 40 points or 0.07%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,717.20 per oz while Silver is priced at $18.78. Platinum was trading at $874.45 while palladium was trading at $1,898.83.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 48,770 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 53,907 per kg on Thursday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.  

Copper futures were trading at Rs 627.05 up 0.67% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 624.70 and Rs 211.00 per Kg respectively on MCX.

According to the Good Returns website, ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 46,000 in New Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. In Chennai, the same amount of the valuable metal is exchanged for Rs 46,300.

In Mumbai, Kolkata, and New Delhi, ten grams of 24-carat gold costs Rs 50,180, whereas the same amount costs Rs 50,500 in Chennai.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 46,040 and Rs 46,150 in Vadodara and Lucknow, respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity can be purchased in Vadodara for Rs 50,220 and in Lucknow for Rs 50,350.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 46,000 in Bhubaneshwar, Hyderabad, and Kerala. The same quantity of 22-carat purity can be acquired for Rs 46,070 in Mysore, Bengaluru, and Mangalore.

However, ten grams of 24-carat gold can be purchased for Rs 50,180 in Hyderabad, Bhubaneshwar, and Kerala, while it costs Rs 50,250 in Bengaluru, Mangalore, and Mysore.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 46,040 and Rs 46,150 in Nashik and Chandigarh, respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is priced at Rs 50,220 in Nashik and Rs 50,350 in Chandigarh.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold can be purchased in Ahmedabad and Coimbatore for Rs 46,050 and Rs 46,300, respectively. The same amount of 24-carat purity is available for Rs 50,230 in Ahmedabad and Rs 50,500 in Coimbatore.
