Gold prices were unchanged with a negative tilt on Thursday, as a firm US currency and higher Treasury rates impacted greenback-priced gold.

Gold’s performance and prospects have also been clouded by the Fed’s aggressive monetary policy stance on rate rises as the bank attempts to reign in rising inflation.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) decreased marginally on Thursday, May 19, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 50,116.00 per 10 gm, down 102 points or 0.20%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 60,384.00 per kg, down 394 points or 0.65%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,813.55 per oz while Silver is priced at $21.39. Platinum was trading at $926.33 while palladium was trading at $2,010.89.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 49,080 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 61,149 per kg on Wednesday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.  

Copper futures were trading at Rs 760.70 up 0.58% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 637.00 and Rs 238.80 per Kg respectively on MCX.

According to the Good Returns website, 10 grams of 22-carat gold can be purchased and sold for Rs 46,100 in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata. The same amount of the rare yellow metal is being traded-in Chennai for Rs 47,390.

In Mumbai and Kolkata, 10 grams of 24-carat gold costs Rs 50,290. The same quantity of 24-carat purity costs Rs 50,790 in New Delhi and Rs 51,700 in Chennai.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 46,160 and Rs 46,250 in Ahmedabad and Lucknow, respectively. A similar amount of 24-carat purity is worth Rs 50,380 in Ahmedabad and Rs 50,440 in Lucknow.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 46,100 in Kerala, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. Similarly, the same quantity of 22-carat purity can be acquired for Rs 46,100 in Vijayawada, Mysore, and Vishakhapatnam. Furthermore, 10 grams of 24-carat gold costs Rs 50,290 in all of the aforesaid places.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold can be purchased for Rs 46,160 and Rs 46,180 in Surat and Patna, respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity costs Rs 50,380 in Surat and Rs 50,370 in Patna.

Today, 10 grams of 22-carat gold are worth Rs 46,250 in Jaipur and Chandigarh. In both locations, the same quantity of 24-carat purity is sold for Rs 50,440.
