Gold prices in India continue to increase on Tuesday, with
the yellow metal trading above the Rs 52,000 level. Gold is considered as an inflation
hedge, although higher short-term US interest rates and bold yields raise the opportunity
cost of holding bullion, which yields no interest. A strong US dollar makes
gold less attractive for buyers holding other currencies.
