Indian equity benchmarks ended lower on Wednesday with the Sensex losing 215.26 points or 0.35% to close at 60,906.09 points. The Nifty fell 62.55 points or 0.34% to settle at 18,082.85 points.

The broader indices ended mostly red with the BSE MidCap index losing 0.12% and the SmallCap index up by 0.23%. The top losing sectoral indices on the BSE were Telecommunication down by 1.31%, Realty 1.01%, TECK 1.00%, Auto 0.75%, and Power 0.65%, while Metal up by 0.67%, Healthcare up by 0.43%, Energy up by 0.14%, Commodity up by 0.09%, and Oil & Gas up by 0.09% were the gaining sectoral indices on BSE.

LIC Housing Finance: The stock ended 8.37% lower at Rs 366.90 on the BSE after the company reported a 23% year-on-year growth in net profit at Rs 305 crore for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2023. Revenue from operations for the quarter jumped 8% to Rs 5,085 crore compared to the year-ago quarter.

Max Healthcare Institute Ltd: The stock ended 2.10% higher at Rs 466.95 on the BSE after the company reported a strong performance report in the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23. Revenue stood at Rs 1,567 crore, 9% higher year-on-year, and 6% quarter-on-quarter.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.: The stock ended 1.25% higher at Rs 418.35 on the BSE after its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) received approval from the United State Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), it stated in an exchange filing.

Other Healthcare stocks also showed solid gains today. RPG Life Sciences Ltd. surged 7.23, Aster DM Healthcare Ltd. soared 6.16, Alembic Pharmaceuticals Ltd. surged 5.83%, and Gland Pharma Ltd. surged 5.21%.

The Karnataka Bank Ltd: The stock ended nearly 20% higher at Rs 112.55 on the BSE after the bank reported 228% year-on-year growth in net profit at Rs 412 crore for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2022-23 after there was a write-back of provisions and contingencies of Rs 14 crore in the period. Net interest income jumped 26% year-on-year to Rs 803 crore for the quarter.

Eicher Motors: The stock ended 1.85% lower at Rs 3,728.15 on the BSE after the company released data stating 82,235 units of Royal Enfield sold in the month of October 2022, 86% higher than the 44,133 units sold in the corresponding month last year. International business sold 5,707 units of Royal Enfield in October this year, up 62% year-on-year.

Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd: The stock ended 3.49% lower at Rs 467.00 on the BSE after the company reported a 27% year-on-year increase in net profit at Rs 111.2 crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23. Revenue from operations surged 19% year-on-year to Rs 1,931 crore during the quarter.
