The Sensex jumped 248.84 points or 0.40% to 61,872.99 while the Nifty was up by 74.25 points or 0.41% to close at 18,403.40 at the end of Tuesday’s trading session.

The Sensex moved in a high and low band of 61,955.96 and 61,436.90. A total of 19 stocks advanced against 10 that were declining, and 1 stable on the index.

The Nifty traded in the high-low range of 18,427.95 and 18,282.00. On the index, 36 stocks advanced against 14 that declined.

The broader indices ended mixed with the BSE MidCap index gaining 0.08% and the SmallCap index up by 0.01%. The top losing sectoral indices on the BSE were Oil & Gas down by 0.99%, Telecommunication 0.79%, Auto 0.75%, Bankex 0.70%, and Utilities 0.53%. While Metal up 0.60%, Capital Goods 0.21%, Realty 0.08%, Industrials 0.04%, and FMCG 0.03% were only gaining sectoral indices on BSE.

The top gainers on the Sensex were Powergrid up by 2.20%, ICICI Bank 1.92%, Bharti Airtel 1.64%, Ultratech Cement 1.56%, SBI 1.41%, and Dr Reddy’s Labs 1.41%. While the top losers on the index were Bajaj Finserv down by 0.76%, ITC 0.60%, Reliance Industries 0.43%, Sun Pharma 0.33%, and Nestle India 0.16%.

The top gainers on the Nifty were Power Grid Corp up by 2.41%, ONGC 2.26%, ICICI Bank 2.04%, Bharti Airtel 1.85%, and Hero Motocorp 1.84%.  While the top losers were HDFC Life Insurance down by 1.01%, Grasim Industries 0.71%, Cipla 0.59%, ITC 0.49%, and UPL 0.46%.

Vesuvius India Limited, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, Linc Limited, Windsor Machines Limited, and Bohra Industries Limited hit their 52-week high on Tuesday.

Fusion Micro Finance Limited, Globus Spirits Limited, DCX Systems Limited, Intrasoft Technologies Limited, and RSWM Limited touched their 52-week low on Tuesday.

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, Balkrishna Industries Limited, Apollo Tyres Limited, ICICI Bank Limited, and Bharti Airtel Limited were the most active equities on NSE.

The top volume gainers were Revathi Equipment Limited, Bohra Industries Limited, Vesuvius India Limited, AksharChem India Limited, and Creative Newtech Limited.

Aksharchem India Limited, Bhagiradha Chemicals & Industries Limited, Renaissance Global Limited, Refex Industries Limited, and Future Market Networks Limited hit their upper price band.

Transwarranty Fin Ltd-Re, Emami Realty Limited, Shanti Overseas (India) Limited, Aakash Exploration Services Limited, and Aaron Industries Limited hit their lower price band. A total of 76 securities hit the upper price band, 62 securities hit the lower band and 11 securities hit both the upper and lower bands on November 15, 2022.
