The BSE Sensex advanced 303.38 points or 0.56% to close at
54,481.84. During the day, it jumped 448.68 points or 0.82% to 54,627.14. The
NSE Nifty surged by 87.70 points or 0.54% to end at 16,220.60.

The broader indices ended in green with the BSE Mid cap
index up by 0.20%, while the Small cap index was up by 0.28%. On the sectoral
front, Capital Goods up by 2.23%, Power up by 1.71%, Utilities up by 1.58%,
Industrials up by 1.51%, and Bankex up by 0.66%, while Metal down by 0.97%,
Basic Materials down by 0.11%, Telecom down by 0.09% and Realty down by 0.01%
were the top losing indices on BSE.

Here are the key stocks that moved the most on July 8:

Tata Motors: The stock prices added 2.24% to close at Rs
440.50 after the auto major’s Q1 global wholesales were up 48% year on year at
3.16 lakh units and JLR global wholesales were at 82,587 units.

Power Grid: The stock price rose 3.18% to settle at Rs
219.30 after the company was declared the successful bidder for TSEP from
Neemuch SEZ, a transmission system for evacuation of power.

Mahindra & Mahindra: Shares of auto major Mahindra and
Mahindra (M&M) fell 0.25% to close at Rs 1,130.50 after the company said
British International Investment would invest up to Rs 1,925 crore ($250
million) into its new four-wheel passenger electric vehicle (EV) arm.

Hindustan Zinc: Shares of Hindustan Zinc surged 2.53% to
close at Rs 263.00 after the Centre invited bids from merchant bankers to
assist it in offloading its 29.5% residual stake in HZL in tranches.

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories: The stock closed 1.47% higher at
Rs 4,400 after the announcement that the United States Food and Drug
