YouTube is getting a new CEO chief executive officer after the streaming platform’s existing CEO, Susan Wojcicki announce that she will be stepping down after serving for the last nine years.

Wojcicki will be replaced by Indian American Neal Mohan, who is currently the chief product officer at YoutTube. “Today, after nearly 25 years here, I’ve decided to step back from my role as the head of YouTube and start a new chapter focused on my family, health and personal projects I’m passionate about,” Wojcicki said in a letter to employees.

Wojcicki said that she plans to stay around for some time to help Mohan transition into the role. She also called Mohan an excellent leader and said that he understands the creator community and its needs. “…with Neal and our incredible team of employees, you all will be in good hands,” she said in her letter to content creators.

Who is Neal Mohan?

Neal Mohan lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and comes from years of experience working for a number of tech moguls. He did his MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

According to his LinkedIn bio, Neal Mohan is currently the chief product officer at YoutTube and “responsible for YouTube products, user experience, and trust and safety globally. This includes YouTube for mobile, desktop and TV devices, applications like YouTube Music, Kids, and VR, YouTube’s two subscription services, YouTube Premium and YouTube TV, and tools for media partners, content creators, musicians, governments, consumer brands, etc.”

He also manages “creation and enforcement of platform policies governing which content is allowed on the platform. Accountability for overall business success and growth of YouTube.”

He is also on the board of directors for Stitch Fix, and 23andMe. Additionally, he is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Previously, he was a member Of The Management Board for Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

He has also worked as a senior vice president, for Google Display and Video Ads. “Led Google’s Display and Video advertising business. Responsible for the company’s advertising product offerings on YouTube, the Google Display Network, AdSense, AdMob, and the DoubleClick ad tech products. Built solutions for millions of advertisers and media partners enabling growth of the consumer internet, mobile app ecosystem and online media industry. Developed the business into one of Google’s largest and fastest growing,” his bio says.
