An alternative evaluation criterion was used to determine the NIOS results for Class 10 and 12 students after the June 2021 public exams were cancelled in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. As per the evaluation scheme, students’ past exam records were taken into consideration.

NIOS declared the result a week after the University Grants Commission (UGC) issued new guidelines, instructing universities and colleges across the country to begin the new academic session from October 1.

“It is expected that all school boards will declare their results for class 12 exams by July 31. If there is any delay in declaration of the result of qualifying exams, the new academic session may begin by October 18,” the UGC said in the new guidelines.

Results for the ICSE (class X) and ISC (class XII) board exams were been declared by the Council for the Indian School of Certificate Examination (CISCE) on Saturday.
