Kerala
schools have started conducting offline exam from today, September 24, 2021 in
the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. More than 1 lakh students of class 11 and
vocational higher secondary students will appear in the exam. The exams will
continue till October 18, 2021.

While
speaking to ANI, Jeevan Babu who is a Director of General education of Kerala
informs that Supreme Court allowed us to conduct exams.

“After
getting permission from Supreme Court, we have started conducting exams for
class 11 and vocational higher secondary students in physical classes from
today. The exams will end on October 18,”  said Jeevan Babu.

Jeevan Babu
conducted meetings at various levels for conducting the exams. To conduct exams
safely he also took Covid-19 precautionary measures in all the schools of Kerala

“We
have conducted meetings at various levels for conducting these exams. In
addition, COVID-19 precautionary measures are also being taken in all the
schools in Kerala. We hope that exams go nicely and we wish good health to
all,” the director added.

Many parents
of students also expressed their views 
and they are satisfied with this decision taken by the General Education
Director to conduct exam in physical form.

A class 11
student mother named Arya said that her son is prepared for the exam and she is
completely agree with the decision.  “My
son is well prepared for the exams. Last year, my daughter also appeared for
exams in physical classes,” she quoted.

Later,
Kerala Chief Minister’s office informed that schools of classes 1 to 7 and 10
and 12 will reopen from November 1 and 15, 2021 respectively.

In an official notification from the CMO reads that, “School-based
classes for standards 1 to 7 (primary section) and 10 and 12 will begin on
November 1, other classes will begin on November 15. The decision was taken at
a COVID-19 review committee meeting”.
