The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released
the Term-1 date sheet for classes X and XII. The subjects have been divided
into two categories – major subjects and minor subjects. For the first time,
CBSE board exams
are being conducted in two phases. Students will have to give practical exams
in both terms and the Term 1 practical exams are to be conducted by the respective
schools.

The list of major subjects for class 10 includes Hindi Course A, Mathematics Standard, Home
Science, Hindi Course B, Science, Social Science, Computer Application, English
Language & Literature and Mathematics Basic.

As for class XII students the major
subjects are Hindi Elective, History, Political Science, Geography, Economics,
Psychology, Sociology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Physical
Education, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Informatics Prac.
(New), Computer Science (New), English Core, Hindi Core.

Minor subjects for twelfth graders
include languages subjects like English Elective, Bhutia, Urdu Elective, Spanish,
Sanskrit Elective, Kashmiri, Mizo, Urdu Core, Sanskrit Core, Punjabi, Telugu,
Bengali, Tamil, Sindhi, Marathi, Gujarati, Manipuri, Malayalam, Odia, Assamese,
Kannada, Arabic, Tibetan, French, German, Russian, Persian, Nepali, Limboo,
Lepcha, Telugu – Telangana, Bodo, Tangkhul, Japanese, Shorthand (English), Shorthand
(Hindi),   

Other minor subjects for class XII
students are Carnatic Music Vocal, Mridangam, Hindustani Music Vocal, Retail, Information
Technology, Web Application, Biotechnology, Automotive Engineering, Graphics,

Class tenth students have an option
to choose from 66 minor subjects while class twelfth students have 95 choices available.
