Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan turned 46 today. The actor shared a picture from a shooting location on his Instagram handle. The picture shows a clapperboard and an idol of Lord Ganesha. The clapperboard has ‘Ghoomer’ written on top, along with scene, shot and take columns marked with a numeric one.

The caption reads, “Can’t ask for a better birthday present! Birthdays are best spent working. Ghoomer, now spinning.”

Uploaded four hours ago, the Instagram post has garnered over 55,000 likes and hundreds of comments.

“Heartiest congratulations for your birthday, and for Ghoomar as well. Now is the time to raise flags”, wrote Amitabh Bachchan, the actor’s father.

Several other actors including Bipasha Basu, Esha Deol, and Bobby Deol also extended their wishes. 

‘URI’ actor Vicky Kaushal shared the post on his Instagram story and wrote, “Happy Birthday @bachchan, and all the very best for this new journey.”

‘Ghoomer’ is the second collaboration between Abhishek Bachchan and R Balki, a filmmaker. The two also worked together on the 2009 critically acclaimed film, ‘Paa’, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan. 

Abhishek is also set to star in ‘Dasvi’, a film by debutant filmmaker Tushar Jalota. The film will also star Nimrat Kaur and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles. 

The actor last starred in the 2021 film, ‘Bob Biswas’. The film was collaboratively produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Boundscript Motion Pictures. Directed by Diya Annapurna Ghosh, the crime drama also stars Chitrangda Singh. Filmed in Kolkata, the movie revolves around Bob Biswas, a contract killer. 

The film portrays Abhishek as the protagonist, who comes out of a coma with no memory of what his life looks like. As he attempts to regain his memory, he is caught in various moral dilemmas through his journey. 

The film is a spin-off of the 2012 blockbuster hit ‘Kahaani’, starring Vidya Balan.
