Actors Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem are in negotiations to play one of television’s most iconic couple Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz in filmmaker Aaron Sorkin’s upcoming film ‘Being the Ricardos’.

If the deal is locked, Kidman and Bardem will essay the role of Ball and Arnaz, who starred in beloved television series ‘I Love Lucy’, an American television sitcom that originally aired on CBS from October 15, 1951, to May 6, 1957.

According to Variety, the movie will take place during a production week on the set of ‘I Love Lucy,’ starting with a Monday table read through an audience shoot on Friday. Ball and Arnaz will face challenges that could end their careers and their marriage.

‘Being the Ricardos’ will be backed by Amazon Studios along with Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch.

Kidman was last seen in the HBO drama series ‘The Undoing’, alongside Hugh Grant. She also starred in Ryan Murphy’s Netflix musical ‘The Prom.’

Bardem is all set to star in Deni Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic ‘Dune’ and was most recently seen in ‘The Roads Not Taken.’ He’ll also play Ariel’s father King Triton in Disney’s live-action remake of ‘The Little Mermaid.’

Sorkin just released ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’ on Netflix, which is already a big hit and making an Oscar buzz. He made his directing debut with 2017 crime-drama ‘Molly’s Game’ starring Jessica Chastain.
