According to People, the Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon said that the 33-year-old is charged with two counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm. Gascon said, “Discharging a gun in public is a serious offence that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood.” The officer also added, “My office conducted a thorough review of the evidence in this case and determined that the addition of a special firearm allegation was warranted.”

A$AP Rocky, whose legal name is Rakim Athelaston Mayers, was first arrested for the incident at Los Angeles International Airport on April 20, 2022, and was released on bail the same day. According to People, he was released after posting a $550,000 bond.

The incident took place on November 6, 2021. According to Rolling Stone, Relli wants to file a civil lawsuit against Rocky. Relli’s lawyers, in a statement, claimed that Rocky lured Relli to an obscure location “to discuss a disagreement”.

According to People, the statement alleges, “Unbeknownst to Mr Ephron (A$AP Relli), A$AP Rocky was not just planning for a conversation and came armed with a semi-automatic handgun”. The statement also added that “After arriving at the location, a conversation ensued whereby without provocation, warning or any justification, A$AP Rocky produced the handgun and intentionally fired multiple shots at Mr Ephron”.
