Singer Cardi B gave face mask the most fashionable twist at the red carpet of the 2021 American Music Awards. The singer, who is hosting this year’s event, posed on the red carpet twice as celebrities made their way into the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday.
However, it was her second outfit of the night that made heads turn. While talking to one of the reporters, she opted for Schiaparelli off-the-shoulder gown, statement earrings and a black veil ahead of the ceremony. What was interesting about her look was solid gold mask that covered her full face.

On Twitter, the look surprised viewers, with many confused by the singer’s mask, while others found the outfit amusing.
“Cardi girl, you look so good,” one person tweeted.
Another said: “Cardi B is already a fashion icon.”
The outfit choice also prompted jokes, with one viewer tweeting: “Cardi B took the mask mandate to a different level,” while another joked: “Let’s be real C-3PO did it first.” C-3PO is a humanoid robot character in Star Wars who is covered in gold plating.
While speaking to reporters, Cardi B promised that viewers could expect additional outfit changes.
Her first outfit was a black floor-length gown with a sequin leopard-print pattern.

Talking about American Music Awards, Silk Sonic’s Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak kicked off the 2021 edition with a R&B funky pre-taped note with their “Smokin Out the Window” .
“I’m a little nervous,” the host told the Associated Press after listing all the performances planned. “We’re going to celebrate everybody.”
Taylor Swift broke her own record for most AMA wins by bagging the award for favourite female pop artist prior to the start of the show. Doja Cat, with three awards, and Meghan Thee Stallion, with two, were also pre-show winners.
