Amitabh Bachchan, on account of his 80th birthday on October 11, has been receiving wishes on social media from fans all around the world. Apart from his fans and other celebrities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wished Big B on his special day.

Modi called Bachchan a remarkable film personality and wished him good health and long life on Twitter.

“A very happy 80th birthday to Amitabh Bachchan Ji. He is one of India’s most remarkable film personalities who has enthralled and entertained audiences across generations. May he lead a long and healthy life @SrBachchan,” the tweet read. 

In his decades-long career in the film industry, Amitabh Bachchan has received numerous awards and honours. He has received five National Film Awards, 15 Filmfare Awards, and countless honours in international film festivals. The Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri in 1984, the Padma Bhushan in 2001, and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015. Bachchan also won the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2018.

The megastar is set to travel to Tirupati with his family. Meanwhile, an 18-city retrospective and exhibition titled ‘Bachchan: Back to the Beginning’ will be conducted between October 8-11. Big B’s movies, including ‘Don,’ were screened on Saturday as part of the four-day event at PVR Juhu in Mumbai. On October 10, Bollywood stars went to theatres to see Amar Akbar Anthony, followed by the launch of the first look of his upcoming film “Uunchai”. His other upcoming films are Project K and the remake of The Intern.

Tickets for his latest film Goodbye are being offered at Rs 80. Goodbye was released on October 7. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the film portrays the dysfunctional Bhalla family. This film also stars Neena Gupta and marks the Bollywood debut of Rashmika Mandanna.
