Singing reality show ‘Indian Idol’ is once again in controversy and this time Raj- Thackeray led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has accused the makers of the show of showing Alibaug in a poor light and demanded an apology.
During one of the recent episodes, the host of the show Aditya Narayan was seen asking contestant Sawai Bhatt if he thinks they have come from Alibaug.

During a Facebook live session, MNS Chitrapat Sena chief Amey Khopkar stated that Aditya used the line as a part of street lingo used to poke fun at people of Alibaug as small-town simpletons.
Khopkar said that he has already spoken to Aditya’s father Udit Narayan regarding the issue, as well as the people from the channel.
“The channel has been informed that an apology is a must in the upcoming episode or else MNS will be forced to take action,” he said.
