Pop diva Ariana Grande has gone blonde once again, this time for her role as Glinda in the forthcoming musical Wicked. The singer will feature in the film alongside Cynthia Erivo, who will play the wicked witch. The plot of the film is based on the 1995 Gregory Maguire novel,  Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, which talks about the aftermath of the Wizard of Oz saga, and the life of the Wicked Witch.

The No Tears Left To Cry singer had gone blonde in 2018, during her Sweetener era. Grande has recently started embracing her natural hair texture, posting photos with her naturally curly hair once in a while.

Grande posted a photo of her side profile, in a new hair colour, and captioned it “New earrings,”. Of course, all the attention was redirected toward her blonde locks.

Many of Grande’s friends complemented the singer’s fresh look. Jonathan Van Ness called the look “Iconique” and Gottmik called her “A BLONDE DIVA.”

Celebrity hairstylist and Grande’s friend Chris Appleton also commented on her post saying: “Ohh Hi old friend”. Appleton was Grande’s hairstylist during the Sweetener Era and was responsible for her blonde hair in 2018.

The post garnered over two million likes in the first hour after Grande uploaded it on Instagram

The songstress is a natural Brunette but has experimented with different hair colours in the past.

It was announced in November 2021 that Grande will play the role of Glinda, the cheerful witch in the onscreen adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked, while Cynthia Erivo will play Elphaba.

Director Jon M Chu revealed that the film will be split into two parts, and will be released on Christmas Day 2024 and 2025, which dejected the fans as they labeled it a ‘money grabbing’ tactic.

Grande is a pop sensation. Last year, she featured in the American reality TV show The Voice as a judge. She also starred in Don’t Look Up, a satirical film that was nominated for four Academy awards. Grande played the role of Riley Bina, a naïve international pop star, in the film.
