Former US President Barack Obama informed through Twitter on
Tuesday about his and Michelle Obama’s new series, Ada Twist, Scientist is
out on Netflix.

Barack Obama tweeted on behalf of the couple, “Our latest production
from Higher Ground, Ada Twist, Scientist, is now on Netflix. Based on the book
series, the show will continue the work we started at the White House Science
Fair. We hope it inspires more young people to discover science and use their
imagination to create.”

He attached pictures with his tweet in which he can be seen interacting with kids.

The new show for pre-schoolers is executively produced by
Barack and Michelle Obama. It features 8-year-old Black girl Ada, a passionate
budding scientist “who aspires to discover the truth about absolutely
everything.” Ada unravels and solves mysteries for her friends and family
with the aid of her two best companions, Rosie Revere and Iggy Peck. The
show highlights essential concepts such as STEM education, scientific
discovery, teamwork, and the power of friendship.

The series is based on a bestselling children’s book of the
same name written by Andrea Beaty and illustrated by David Roberts.

The series is created by the Irish-American children’s
television screenwriter Chris Nee. Kerri Grant serves as showrunner,
co-executive producer, and story editor. The executive producers include Mark
Burton of Wonder Worldwide apart from Obamas’ Higher Ground Productions.

Higher Ground Productions, the former first couple’s
company, has already produced a number of critically praised TV and film
productions under their Netflix contract, including the Academy Award-winning
documentary American Factory.

Each 26-minute episode will conclude with a live-action
segment featuring a real scientist to further inspire children. They’ll discuss
the issues addressed in the episodes as well as how their work relates to them.

Ada Twist, Scientist aims to alter people’s perceptions of
scientists and what they identify with them by having a small Black child lead
these stories and showcasing different real-life experts.
