Robert “Beatle Bob” Matonis, known for his black mop top, polyester suits, and spirited dancing, died at the age of 70. His sister recently shared the heartbreaking news of his death on social media, leaving friends, fans, and the entire St. Louis music community in mourning.

For over 25 years, he graced stages across the city and beyond, earning him the moniker “the Dancing Legend of St. Louis.”

From small local gigs to large-scale music festivals, Beatle Bob was an omnipresent figure in the front row, captivating audiences with his retro dance moves that he performed with unwavering passion. His signature move, “throwing the dice,” became a symbol of his unique style and enthusiasm for the music he loved.
