Authorities have detained a suspect identified as Anthony Trejo in connection with three separate shooting incidents that took place on the same street in Ventura’s Montalvo neighborhood.

The initial shooting, according to a statement from the Ventura Police Department, happened on June 8 at 11 p.m. in the 2300 block of Peacock Avenue. The perpetrator fired several rounds into an empty car during this encounter.

The second shooting was alleged to have happened on July 22, more than a month later, at 3:30 in the morning, close to the intersection of Peacock Avenue and Whippoorwill Street.

The third shooting happened two days after the second one at 8 a.m. at the intersection of Peacock Avenue and Bristol Road. According to the authorities, the suspect in this instance fired several shots at a parked car that was in use before fleeing the scene on foot.

Who is Anthony Trejo?

Anthony Trejo is 36 years old. He is a documented gang member. He was apprehended by the Ventura Police Department Gang Unit after being identified as a suspect in the three shootings.

Trejo was arrested by law enforcement on Thursday at 2 p.m. in Ventura after a warrant for his arrest was issued on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and shooting into an inhabited vehicle.

He is facing further charges in addition to being detained for the unsolved assault with a dangerous weapon and firing at an occupied car warrant. He was accused of having a weapon while a felon, having a controlled substance in his possession while in possession of a weapon, and resisting arrest. He was lodged in the Ventura County Jail as a result of these accusations.

The suspect confronted a delivery driver in the second shooting incident, the Ventura Police Department said in a statement. The perpetrator opened fire on the victim as he tried to flee the scene, hitting his car as he was making his getaway.
