General Hospital star Billy Miller was suffering from manic depression before his death at 43, just two days shy of his 44th birthday.

The longtime soap opera star, who was best known for playing Billy Abbott on Young and the Restless and Drew Cain on General Hospital, died Friday in Austin, Texas. His exact cause of death hasn’t been revealed. However, TMZ learned that he was struggling with manic depression at the time of his death. According to his team, the actor may have taken his own life.

He starred in over 700 episodes when it comes to The Young and The Restless and acted in nearly 600 episodes of General Hospital, playing different characters. He also starred in ‘All My Children’ in the mid-2000s.

He also starred in a number of other TV series and movies such as CSI: NY, Justified, Ringer, Castle, Ray Donovan, Suits, Truth Be Told, The Rookie, NCIS, American Sniper and others.

Miller is survived by his mother, Patricia, and his sister, Megan.

His death was first reported by Michael Fairman TV. According to Fairman, Miller’s death was confirmed by someone at The Belmont, a Los Angeles restaurant bar that Miller co-owned.

Miller was born on September 17, 1979, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in communications. After moving to Los Angeles, he found employment in the mailroom of Industry Entertainment.

After signing with the Wilhelmina modeling agency, Miller obtained his first big break to appear in six commercials, including two for Electronic Arts’ The Sims. Miller was cast in 2007 as bad boy Richie Novak on All My Children who terrorized his sister Annie.
