Britney Spears’ estranged mother, Lynne, has reportedly returned to teaching elementary school children to help alleviate her financial struggles amid an ongoing rift with her famous daughter.

Lynne, 68, previously worked as a teacher and ran a daycare in Kentwood, Louisiana, before Britney’s rise to superstardom in the early 2000s. According to sources close to her, Lynne has taken on part-time work at a local school to supplement her income. Substitute teachers in the area typically earn around $15 per hour.

Her financial difficulties are believed to be a result of her strained relationship with her multi-millionaire daughter, Britney, which has seriously impacted her finances. Lynne filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy in 1998 and has owned several companies, including Britney Online, Inc., and One More Time Music, Inc., in the past two decades but is no longer involved with them. She also sold Britney’s childhood home for $275,000 in 2021.

The feud between Lynne and Britney has played out publicly on social media, with Britney accusing her mother of not doing enough to help her escape the 13-year conservatorship that her father, Jamie Spears, controlled. The relationship suffered another blow when Lynne requested that Britney cover her $660,000 attorney bill, which she incurred while trying to support her daughter against her father’s alleged abusive actions during the conservatorship.

Court documents reveal that Britney’s lawyer argued against Lynne’s petition, stating that there was no legal basis for her claims to collect funds from Britney’s estate. He also claimed that Britney had spent approximately $1.7 million on her mother over the years, covering various expenses, including housing and utilities.

Ultimately, Lynne withdrew her $660,000 claim, partly in an attempt to repair her strained relationship with Britney. Earlier this year, there were signs of reconciliation when Britney mentioned that her mother had visited her in California in May. However, according to insiders, this reconciliation was short-lived, and Britney has since distanced herself from her family following her divorce from Sam Asghari.
