Carole Cook, a veteran actor known for her work on stage and screen, has died at age 98, her agent Robert Malcolm said in a statement. Cook died “peacefully” on Wednesday from heart failure, said Malcolm reported CNN.

Cook was known for her film roles, which included appearances in The Incredible Mr. Limpet and Sixteen Candles, as well as voicing the character Pearl in Disney’s Home on the Range.

She was born on January 14, 1924, in Abilene, Texas to Leland Preston Cook Sr. and his wife, Maudine.

Husband

In 1964, Carole Cook married Tom Troupe, an American actor, and playwright. They don’t have any children. Troupe was born on July 15, 1928. He is 93.

According to Popular Bio, Cook had an estimated net worth of around $15 million. 

Career

In 1959, Cook became a student of actress and comedian Lucille Ball, when the television star brought her to appear in the Desilu Review. It was Ball who gave her the stage name Carole. She appeared regularly on The Lucy Show and Here’s Lucy. She starred in the animated Disney film Home on the Range, voicing Pearl Gesner.

Cook appeared in films such as The Incredible Mr. Limpet, Sixteen Candles, Grandview, USA, American Gigolo, Summer Lovers, and Palm Springs Weekend. She made guest appearances on several television shows such as The Lucy Show, Here’s Lucy, Darkroom, Knight Rider, Emergency!, Magnum, PI, McMillan and Wife, Murder, She Wrote, Dynasty, Charlie’s Angels, Cagney & Lacey, Grey’s Anatomy, and a starring role in a Season 4 episode of Hart to Hart.

She was a longtime supporter of various AIDS organizations and regularly appeared as a featured performer in the annual Los Angeles STAGE benefit. Cook and Troupe received a joint honorary 2002 Los Angeles Ovation Award for Career Achievements.
